On June 12, 2022 we gathered on the sixth anniversary of the Pulse massacre. On June 12, 2016, Pulse, a popular gay bar in Orlando Florida, was the deadliest incident at the the LGBTQIA + community in U.S. History. At 2:00 am that morning, a gunman attacked the Pulse bar, killing 49 people and wounding 53.

In addition to being a popular LGBTQIA night spot, the night of this incident was Latin night, where a variety of music played attracting Latin queer and straight people from neighboring towns. This attack was targeting LGBT people of color. It was an event that rocked the world as the effects of hate and violence evoked shock and disbelief which turned to solidarity and compassion.

In conjunction with St. Clement's Church, we were able to hold a memorable service to honor the 49. Each candle represented the victims of the massacre.
